Habits of Successful People on Monday

In this post, we show 6 habits that successful people have on Mondays and that you can also practice to have a great week at work.

Ah Mondays... After the end of the weekend, many people fear the arrival of Monday. However, we at ClickCard have learned to keep the habits of successful people on Mondays to start their week off right.

Your habits and attitudes on this day define the mood and productivity you will maintain throughout the week. Yes, Mondays are tough, but that doesn't mean there's no such day, so we need to get a lot of GRIT (we recommend reading Angela Duckworth's book “Grit”).

1 - Wake up early and still maintain a healthy balance of sleep

Successful businessmen understand that time is precious and, in order to achieve their goals, they prefer to wake up early. In fact, they wake up very early and start their day at 5 am. If you are not used to waking up early, this will be a challenge for the first few days. However, over time this will become less difficult if you get the proper amount of sleep.

Successful people understand that sleep is extremely important. Sleep detoxifies the neurotoxic waste accumulated during waking hours, so if you don't get enough sleep, these toxins still remain in your system.

People between 18 and 64 years old need approximately 7 to 9 hours of sleep, and 7 to 8 hours of sleep for those over 65 years old. Therefore, it is important to remember that what must be done is not skipping sleep to wake up earlier, but sleeping early to wake up early.

2 - Walking with the dogs

If you have a dog, a morning walk with your furry friend will give you a chance to reflect and spend some alone time, which is very good for your health.

When walking the dog our brain is in a “neuro-plastic” state and as we stimulate brain capacity, we improve mental health and reduce stress.

As you can see, a simple walk can have great benefits, not to mention your dog will love it!

3- Do physical exercises

We know how important it is to exercise on a daily basis, but because of hectic schedules, we often plan to train for the end of the day. However, after a long day at work, it is very common for us to stop going to the gym due to laziness, tiredness or discouragement.

So starting the day with a workout is a great idea! In addition to helping to avoid that after-work gym-hit feeling, it provides many health benefits. Not to mention that good workouts give us the strength to work, since regular exercise improves mood and confidence.

4- Prepare a healthy breakfast

We all understand that skipping breakfast is very harmful for our body and puts us at risk for a number of diseases. It's important that you make time to eat a healthy breakfast each morning.

Many times, due to lack of time, we leave the house in a hurry after eating an unhealthy breakfast. However, as it is the first meal of the day, we should eat a nutritious breakfast in order to fuel ourselves for the workday. So it's important to set aside time each morning to prepare a good meal.

5- Keep your email inbox organized

One of the biggest killers on Mondays is a chaotic inbox. It kills enthusiasm and productivity, which is something successful people cannot tolerate.

By only responding to urgent emails before work, people don't lose focus on their goals. All email activity should be aimed at emptying your spam box, deleting unnecessary messages and organizing your inbox.

6- Read the news, good books or articles

The most successful people understand the importance of keeping up with the latest headlines. By reading the news before work, you'll understand what's happening in the world, including any news that can help or hinder your routine.

When reading in the morning, your mind is fresh, so your concentration levels are higher and therefore you are able to retain more information. This is a great way to learn faster and the information you read will be stored in your brain longer. The morning environment is purely calm and refreshing, which makes the mood more suitable for reading.

For good reading, we recommend Harvard Business Review, Exame and Medium.

Starting the week with these 6 habits will prepare your mind for a positive and, consequently, more productive day! Do as we do at ClickCard: turn those frightening Mondays into key days for success.
